In my previous post, I had stated that I was waiting to see if the resin could work on top of a piece of shweshwe fabric. The main objectives behind the little experiment, were to: a) see if the resin would dry up ontop of fabric, b) see if the resin would distort the fabric colours eg. Cause the colours ro blend in or the like, c) as the previous experiment had failed when no support (a backing plate) was included at the bottom of the circle, would this addition prove to be able to contain the liquid solution as it dried up.
Now the findings of this experiment were as follows: a) The clear resion solution has beenable to dry up and set on top of the fabric.
b) The resin has not distorted the colours of the fabric in any way, and the shweshwe has instead retained its original colours and remained in it's original state.
c) The addition of the backing plate has proven to be the correct support which the border wiring had required.
Therefore in conclusion, the experiment has worked.
